More About Melanie:
Melanie is a seasoned fundraiser with decades of experience as a development director, major gifts officer, and fundraising consultant. She believes that individuals drive philanthropy, and her passion lies in the intersection of major donors and social justice. She brings deep experience helping small-staffed nonprofits to build their base of individual donors—by activating their boards and starting with what feels easiest.
You may be wondering why she calls this work CommunityGrantwriters.us. Most nonprofits think grants are the easiest source of funding, but Melanie will do her best to convince you otherwise. Individual donors give the most, can provide funding quickly, and tend to donate year after year. Melanie and her tiny talented team have helped nonprofits exponentially increase revenue for a wide variety of causes, including health equity, affordable housing, independent journalism, conservation, education, foster youth, survivors of domestic violence, veterans, LGBTQ+, African Americans, women, and LatinX communities.
